What we did
Maritime Security Guards at the access control point engaged the driver safely.
When the driver pulled over, they carefully extracted him from the vehicle and secured the scene. The ERS security team ensured all communications were escalated appropriately, including contacting the South Hedland Police and executing structured traffic management.
The Senior Guard remained onsite an additional two hours to complete the incident report and ensure the matter was fully documented.
What we achieved
The team ensured site safety, managed traffic, coordinated with police, and maintained full compliance in reporting.
Their efforts helped de-escalate a potentially dangerous situation and demonstrated Yampurru/ ERS’s high standards for incident management and documentation.
The response received praise from the CEO, Health and Safety Superintendent, and the Security Manager of Pilbara Ports.
